Stonington Youth Football & Cheer (“the League,” “the Bears,” “we,” or “us”) is a volunteer-run, free-to-play youth football and cheer program serving Stonington and North Stonington, Connecticut, and Westerly, Rhode Island. We care about the privacy of our families as much as we care about their kids on the field. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we handle, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We use information only to run the League: to register and place players, schedule practices and games, communicate with families, manage volunteers and coaches, recognize our sponsors, promote the program, and answer your questions. We do not sell or rent your personal information, ever.
Because we serve youth athletes, registration and personal details for players under 18 are provided by a parent or legal guardian through TeamSnap. We limit the collection of children’s information to what the program reasonably needs to operate safely. If you believe a child’s information has been shared with us without a parent’s involvement, contact us and we will address it promptly.
Team and event photography is part of community youth sports, and we use it to celebrate our athletes and promote the program. If you would prefer that a photo of your child not be used — or you’d like one removed from the site or our social pages — just let the board know and we will honor the request.

This site uses minimal, privacy-friendly measurement and may store small amounts of data in your browser to remember preferences. This information is used in aggregate and is not used to identify individual visitors. Most browsers let you control or clear cookies in their settings.
We share information only as needed to run the League — for example, with coaches for their own teams, or with the service providers listed above. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our participants. We do not share your information for unrelated marketing.
We keep registration and contact information for as long as needed to run the program and meet our recordkeeping obligations, and then dispose of it responsibly.
You can ask us what information we have about your family, request a correction, ask that a photo be removed, or opt out of non-essential communications. To make a request, contact the board using the details below.
We may update this policy as the program and our tools evolve. We’ll post the current version here with a new “last updated” date.
